24×24 Garage Material List?
I am looking for someone that can provide for me a material list for a 24×24 Garage. I want 3 standard windows, One standard entry door & 2 standard garage doors. I will be doing a metal roof. Also will I be able to do 2ft center since I am doing a metal roof or will I still need 16in center? I just need the material list for drying it in, I’m not sure yet what type of siding I will be using.

Do yourself a favor and pour the concrete with a raised footing around the perimeter. For a really good pad lay in rebar or mesh. Use six bag mix for the concrete. If possible leave the crushed limestone bed sit for a month before pouring to let it settle. This will sound strange but do not pour the concrete on a Monday unless you are doing the finishing yourself. Too many times I have seen sloppy jobs because the workers were out getting gassed Sunday night. Last thing run 220V service out there. Maybe a phone line. Remember a steel garage door plus a metal roof might cause short distance for your garage door opener(My regular profession. It is hard to predict. Every opener is different.) This is getting complicated but it sounds like you are doing it right and plan on being there for awhile.

The simplest thing to do is bring your request into any lumber yard. They can work out a material list for you.

Yeah, lumber yard. As far as the truss schedule for a metal roof, 2′ on center is fine, but you have to install purlins perpendicular to the trusses (also called strapping the roof). I strap at 2′ on center as well, but I don’t know what your local codes dictate. Good luck!
