How to give a metal shed a new look? Adding shingles to a metal roof.?
I would like to update my metal shed to match my house. I would like the roof to be black, to match my black shingles. The roof on the shed is not completely flat, some ridges from the design. I would like to apply a black material to it but I’m not sure if shingles are the best idea. Would shingles be too heavy for a metal roof? it’s 10′ x 14′.
Here is a photo of the shed off the lowes website: http://images.lowes.com/product/026862/026862100245.jpg
What is the best material to apply to the metal roof and what would I use to attach it?
thanks
You will not be able to put shingles down directly onto the metal roof due to the ridges in it. As an alternative, you could put plywood on top of the metal roof probably and then shingles on the plywood. Might be more than you’d want to spend just to have them match though, good luck!

Hey neat shed , but as for the shingles it might just look contrived to put shingles on top sort of too cute as well as being quite costly. How about if you just buy some black roof paint for it ?
