I have a medium size home.Over the carport is a flat roof and along the back is also flat.?
My wife wants metal and I want black paper, tar and stone. You DIYers out there and roofers. We are talking 11×25 and 11×45. Tell me what you would charge me for labor and materials. Lots of answers please.
Spend the money and put a truss roof on it with normal pitch.
New roofing will then last longer and you have less chance of leaks.
Then you can use metal on it.

A metal roof will not work if it is actually flat. You can go down to 1/4" per foot pitch with a standing seam roof. example 11′ wide roof would need to be at least (11) 1/4′s of an inch higher on one side, almost 3" You can go as low as 1" per foot with a rib style screw down roof.
A tar and gravel roof like you want will need to be re-done every 5 years or so. I would recommend a "rubber roof" This is glued down to and underlayment material which is screwed to the existing roof. You may have to have your old roof stripped off first.
Check with local roofers for cost, but here in eastern Mass. The standing seam or rubber roof would cost about the same. The rib roof a little less, the tar and gravel the cheapest.
I install metal roofs, but if this were my home, I would install a rubber roof.
