Maybe elaborate more on premature deterioration. - it sounds like you copied it from somewhere, so elaborate on that. "... in Florida due (to) its..." "... type is (in) the.." (I would rewrite this sentence... it's only a disadvantage in coastal areas...). SO maybe: The main disadvantage of metal roofing is it is susceptible to corrosion, especially in coastal areas. Look up the differences between affect and effect. I believe green roofs were not recently discovered, as they were used in the past... i would say the recent application... or something a long those lines, implying that more people/businesses are taking an active part in using it... look for businesses or buildings that do use green roofing.
