   Well lets see. . .

   Shingles; asphalt and wood are most common

   tile; slate and ceramic

   thatch or sod

   For low slope buildings there are;

   TPO, APP, SBS, and built up roofing.

   TPO is polymer based, APP, SBS and BUR are asphalt based.

   Check out the web sites of some large roofing manufacturing companies for more. GAF, Owens Corning are probably the best.
