I need to find blueprints and materials required for building a roof over a second floor deck.?

I need to know the bylaws on the support structure and what materials would be required to build a roof over an existing second story deck. I live in Huntsville, Ontario Canada. The deck is 32 feet long.

Talk to a builder or architect to see if it is possible to build this roof first. Since you're living in Ontario, there are two things to consider; one- you need to set the roof slope steep enough to get the snow off. You have to find out if your existing condition allows the top end of the "new" roof to attach itself to the structure without creating a valley or a flashing nightmare. two- you need to find out what the City requires in terms of snow load in your area. This number will determine the size of beams and thickness of plywood you will need.
